What is Earth Sculpture ?

Earth Sculpture is: 3 dimensional art where earth materials and earth scenes are inextricably linked through the use of art form. Natural materials are exhibited in unusual ways that display their beauty. Earth Sculpture is an outgrowth of contemporary land art, conceptualism and a part of the environmental movement starting in the 1960s.

As several artist have said in one way or another: a sculptor doesn’t make art with his hands, he formed it with his ideas and hands and makes it with his mind.

Significant artists associated with this sculpture movement are creative people. Creative people have messy minds, meaning that they tend to mix and match a lot of different, seemingly incompatible traits – mindfulness and daydreaming, seriousness and play, solitude and collaboration. Rather than inhibit their abilities, these dualities enable them to be more creative:
